Singapore Expected To Offer Taxi-Flying By 2024

Volocopter is now expected to offer taxi-flying services in Singapore, for a 12-kilometer route, and is expected to be operational by mid-2024.

The flying-taxi to be used by the Volocopter is expected to offer speeds of around 90km/h, and operate for a distance of 35km with full charging.

For now, it is still awaiting a verification process from the Singapore authorities. If it goes well, they will offer a flight from Marina South to Marina Reservoir which takes about 15 minutes.

Due to Singapore’s lack of extreme road congestion, taxi-flying will be used for tourism purposes first. The model will also be studied and the data from it will be used in the development of aviation -friendly smart cities in the future.
