Soon Chromebooks Can Be Used as Mobile Data Hotspots

Chromebook laptop devices recently come with support for mobile data technology such as LTE and also 5G where you can load a SIM card in this laptop to connect the laptop to the internet network.

Recently, a 9To5Google report says that Google, specifically the developer of the ChromeOS operating system, is developing a software update that will allow users to share their Chromebook device's internet connection to other devices via a WiFi connection.

In a nutshell this is reverse mobile data sharing as it is usually the smart device that will be used as the internet sharing medium before. Google says that when the feature is ready for testing, it will be accessible and enabled through the built-in Chrome web browser with chrome://flags.

This is seen as a good way to share the internet connection with more devices as ChromeBook laptops are seen to come with a very large amount of battery. This internet sharing function seems to be introduced for testing first before being introduced more widely.
