The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) has now announced that the Malaysian Space Board (interim) will be established in August 2022.
Through the Malaysian Space Board, they will be responsible for advising the Malaysian government on matters relating to the implementation and administration of the Malaysian Space Board Act.
This includes regulating space -related activities, for security purposes, registration of space objects, as well as providing for offenses related to space activities.
The space to be regulated is at an altitude of more than 100 kilometers above sea level, up to the top.
With more active space exploration, in addition to the presence of various satellites in space, this board will play an important role in regulating and maintaining Malaysia's space.
This also includes ensuring that space activities are carried out responsibly, as well as in compliance with the standards set by international bodies.
In parallel, companies and industries are advised to register satellites or any space objects that have been launched to MOSTI.
