Twitter today announced a test of the CoTweets feature that allows two shared accounts to send a single tweet to a timeline. This feature simplifies the process of making an announcement of getting married, having a child, or embarrassing a collaboration producing a project for example.
When a tweet is sent using CoTweets, the tweet will have two profile pictures and two sender names in the timeline. The two sharing accounts can then send tweets on different devices to reply to comments left.
To use CoTweets, one needs to send an invitation to the second individual via DM. After the invitation is accepted, both accounts are free to send tweets to the timeline with the tweets visible to the followers of both accounts in their respective timelines. Testing is performed for only a small number of users at this time.
