Wing Shows Designs Of Several Drones For Different Cargo Cargo Purposes

Wing is a subsidiary of Alphabet with expertise producing drones specifically for future cargo carrying needs. Since starting operations in 2014 under the Google X project, they have begun testing on a Hummingbird drone that can deliver cargo weighing 1.1 kilograms.

With the data collected, Wing now shows their "drone library" which consists of three more drones with the need to carry different drones. The smallest drones in this collection are designed for the delivery of light cargo such as medicine from the pharmacy to the home. It doesn’t require a vertical flying fan and a lot of front thrust. For longer travel, drones with longer wings were also developed.

But the data also shows the average weight of the package sent was 2.3 kilograms of drone feeding larger than the Hummingbird needed. This larger drone has a larger body and a dual fan configuration.

Despite having different body designs and configurations, all Wing drones use the same electric motor components as well as computer controls. This is to simplify the process of replacing and changing the configuration as needed.
