Xiaomi is expected to unveil their first concept electric car this August according to Chinese media reports. The concept was produced by HVST Automobile Design with Xiaomi founder Lei Jun who is also said to have spent 2/3 of his time in the Xiaomi EV office to ensure everything runs smoothly.
After the Xiaomi EV was officially announced in September last year, the company worked hard to develop their first electric car to catch up with the launch date in 2024. In the early stages the plant will produce 150,000 cars a year before being upgraded to produce 300,000 cars a year.
The first electric car is in the A+ segment with a selling price between RMB 150,000 to 200,000 (RM 99,000 - 131,000) and comes with Level 2 self -driving technology. Then the B segment car will be launched with a price between RMB 200,000 to 300,000 (~ RM 131,000 - 197,000) and comes with Level 3 self - driving capability.
