Google representatives are now sharing some new developments involving the trend, and sharing says young users are now more interested in visual content - making them search on other platforms.
As many are aware, for location -related searches, we usually go to Google Search or Google Maps. But, according to Google’s own internal research, about 40% of young users start it on Instagram or TikTok.
In addition, searching for products, many will go to Amazon (a trade site in America), rather than doing it on Google. The same trend is also beginning to be seen being adapted in Malaysia through product searches done on Shopee or Lazada, rather than Google. But, this may be due to the not -so -comprehensive product search integration on Google for Malaysian users.
While it will usually take users to Google - for example after finding an interesting location, young users will start navigating on Google products, but what is worrying is where a search does not start on Google’s own platform.
This also shows a trend where TikTok and Instagram are not only challenging the YouTube platform - but also the Google search platform. High demand for visual content is also expected to change the evolution of Google Search.
In addition, among other trends that have also changed recently on Google search include the use of voice input for search, in addition to using images for search.
