The Acer Vero series was launched last year with the frame of the Windows laptop made from recycled plastic materials. With this Acer hopes they will reduce plastic waste from polluting the world and the packaging is also made from recycled materials.
Today they also launched the Acer Chromebook Vero 514, with a frame, keyboard, speakers and cooling fan made from recycled plastic. In addition, the touch pad is equipped with an OceanGlass glass panel that is also made from recycled glass.
Overall 30% of the Chromebook's components and 90% of the packaging are made from recycled materials. More interesting is that this laptop passed the MIL-STD 810H military standard which allows it to withstand shock when dropped from a height of up to 48 inches.
Vero 514 is equipped with a 14″ FHD touch screen, powered by chips up to Intel Core i7 Gen-12, Intel Iris Xe graphics, memory up to 16GB LPDDR4x, and SSD storage up to 512GB M.2 PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe. I/O options are HDMI 2.0, 2x USB-C, USB-A 3.2 and 3.5mm audio jack. The sale price of Acer Chromebook Vero 514 starts from $499.99 (~RM2243) one.
