Africa's Highest Mount Kilimanjaro Now Has Internet Access

Access to the internet has been recognized as one of the basic human rights. In Malaysia, internet access has exceeded 90% but there are still some areas that are lagging behind. But if you go to Mount Kilimanjaro which is the highest mountain of the African continent, you now finally have access to the internet.

Cellular and internet networks are finally accessible after being launched by the Tanzanian government. At this time cellular internet access can be used up to a height of 3720 meters and it will be expanded up to the top of Kilimanjaro at a height of 5895 meters by the end of 2022.

Although its main purpose is to increase the number of tourists, it also has a secondary function of saving lives in emergency situations. Every year there are many emergency incidents with delayed assistance due to unsatisfactory cellular access.
