AMD Zen 4 Processing Chip Series Will Be Launched On September 27th

For the last few months, a lot has been said about AMD's upcoming processing chip, Zen 4 or AMD Ryzen 7000. It will be built using TSMC's 5nm process, and is expected to perform much better than previous Ryzen processing chips. .

AMD has today confirmed some important details about the series of processing chips. This includes the presence of the first four models that will go on sale in the international market, including AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, AMD Ryzen 7900X, AMD Ryzen 7 7700X and AMD Ryzen 5 7600X.

The most powerful model in this series, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X comes with 16 physical cores and 32 power threads with a base speed of 4.5GHz that can be overclocked to 5.7GHz and has a power consumption of 170W.

Similar to the Intel Alder Lake offerings launched earlier this year, AMD Zen 4 and AMD AM5 motherboards will come with support for several new technologies, including the use of DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0 data transmission technology.

Motherboard models under the AM5 series include AMD X670 Extreme, AMD X670, AMD B650E and AMD B650. All of these motherboards, except the B650 will come with DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 memory support and overclocking capabilities, except for the AMD B650 which may come with PCIe 5.0 support limited to certain models.

A new technology introduced by AMD specifically for AM5 motherboards and AMD Zen 4 processing chips is AMD EXPO, which is the A-XMP (AMD Xtreme Memory Profile) feature that allows users to overclock memory more easily.

AMD says that the first memories that will support AMD EXPO technology include ADATA, Corsair, GeIL, G.SKILL, Kingston and so on.

AMD will start selling these processing chips starting September 27, with the following price tags. An announcement on the local price tag will be made closer to the launch of these CPUs.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X – $699

AMD Ryzen 9 7900X – $549

AMD Ryzen 7 7700X – $399

AMD Ryzen 5 7600X – $299
