Samsung uses an under-screen camera system (UDC) on the Fold4's foldable screen. Xiaomi, on the other hand, does not include a camera on the foldable screen of the camera. This is the dilemma of foldable screen device manufacturers right now. But when Google launches their foldable screen device later it probably won't be an issue.
Google filed two patents with WIPO that show the internal camera will be placed on the bezel of the device. Based on the patent sketch, the bezels on the device that may use the Pixel Fold name appear to be thicker than those on the Fold4 and MIX Fold 2.
The existence of a patent does not mean that it will be used in the near future. But for consumers what is more important? Thin bezels on a foldable screen or a decent selfie camera?
