iPhone vs Android Users, Which Is More Attractive in Dating Apps?

Creating an attractive profile on a dating application is not enough to make you ogled by potential partners. Apparently, the phone you use also affects whether your profile looks more attractive or not.

MoneySuperMarket recently conducted a survey on various swipe-based dating applications during the period March - June 2022. This study was conducted to see which gadget brands make user profiles more ogled than not displaying any gadgets.

Through this study, MoneySuperMarket created identical dating profiles in various cities in 14 countries. One factor that sets these profiles apart is the brand of gadgets featured on the profiles.

This study uses the latest mobile phones and accessories such as iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone SE, Apple Watch Series 6, AirPods 2nd generation, Fitbit Versa, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy Watch 4, Beats Solo 3, Google Pixel 6 Pro, Sony Xperia 1 III, OnePlus 9 Pro, Oppo Find X5 Pro, Huawei Mate 40 Pro, and BlackBerry Key2 LE.

It turns out that from the dozens of devices above, the iPhone has succeeded in making user profiles more attractive to potential partners than not displaying the gadget at all. The three devices most likely to get a pair are iPhone (82%), Apple Watch (76%) and AirPods (62%).

Fitbit Versa smartwatches (32%) and Samsung phones (19%) round out the top five. Meanwhile, the other Android brand that has succeeded in driving matches on dating apps is only Google (9%), as quoted from Android Authority, Monday (1/8/2022).

Other Android phone brands such as Sony, OnePlus, Oppo, and Huawei even make users lose compatibility compared to not showing off the gadget at all. But the worst thing was BlackBerry, which lost matches by -77%.

MoneySuperMarket also conducted a selfie test, in which four models took three selfies using three different phones (iPhone 13 Pro, Google Pixel 6 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra).

They then had a panel of 1,000 app users quickly vote for their favorite photo, based on their tendency to swipe right or if they thought the model looked more attractive.

As it turns out, 44% of surveyed users prefer selfies taken using the Google Pixel 6 Pro. The rest, 32% chose the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and 24% chose the iPhone 13 Pro.

So, based on this study if you want to get more matches on Tinder, Bumble, et al, you should show off your phone with the Apple logo on your profile but take selfies with a Google or Samsung phone.
