Using voice commands to control devices is easy when we are at home. Tasks such as activating alarms, giving reminders and controlling smart lighting systems are common everyday tasks. But doing the same in a car is a bit difficult as there is too much noise pollution and can distract from driving.
LG and SoundHound announced a collaboration to develop a new generation of artificial intelligence that will be used in vehicle infotainment systems. SoundHound's expertise in identifying audio and voice will be used to make the system that will be used better than the existing system.
One of the things that can be done in the future is controlling various car systems such as lowering the windows with voice control. Drivers can place food orders directly through the vehicle's entertainment info system on the way home. It is hoped that this will not only be a better voice control system but also reduce distractions for the driver.
