With various asteroids and comets passing through space every day, now NASA wants to test for the first time, using a satellite as a defense system against the collision of asteroids or comets or meteors.
Through the first test mission scheduled for next September, NASA will throw a remotely controlled satellite on an asteroid - then see the impact and how it reacts to the movement of the asteroid.
Data from it is expected to be used in further developing the Earth's defense system against any comet or asteroid threats in the future.
NASA has scheduled the event for September 27, and will broadcast it live to the public.
