On Samsung devices with UFS storage, the RAM Plus feature has been a given for the past year. RAM Plus allows users to add virtual memory up to 8GB with part of the storage being taken up by the system. On Android 12 based One UI 4 devices this feature is activated with 2GB RAM will be taken up by the system.
This leaves the user with no choice at all. But through One UI 5.0 Beta, the RAM Plus feature can finally be turned off by users. This has long been requested by Samsung device owners because for devices with 12GB RAM, there is no need to activate RAM Plus because the existing memory is sufficient. Samsung is expected to provide One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 around this December.
