Last month, Bluetooth came up with a new standard for wireless audio accessory connectivity, Bluetooth LE Audio. As of today, this feature is not yet offered for any set of headphones, earphones or speakers.
This feature has been introduced since 2020, but will only be ready in the upcoming Android 13. This feature also enables audio accessories to support the LC3 codec.
With the recent launch of the Samsung Gakaxy Buds2 Pro, Samsung says its new set of true wireless earphones will be among the first on the market to support Bluetooth LE Audio. However, they did not share when it will be offered and only stated that this feature will be activated in a future update.
Because this feature can only be used through Android 13, we can expect that this feature may be offered when One UI 5 based on Android 13 is stable later. One UI 5 is currently still in the beta phase and is only offered on the Samsung Galaxy S22 series.
