Sonos is a brand of premium audio products. This year for the first time, they present an affordable product for their brand, the Sonos Ray. They will also be launching a Sonos Sub Mini to go with the Ray at a cheaper price than their original Sonos Sub. But this Mini Sub was delayed in its launch.
The Verge recently reported that Sonos will soon present their new flagship speaker, the Sonos Optimo 2, which will come with a unique design different from the familiar Sonos design.
This speaker will contain various features and functions from other Sonos speakers in one product. It will have multiple audio drivers including an upward pointing one. Audio will also be emitted through grilles on the front and back and all around. The design used is a curved type. Dolby Atmos support will also be supported on this Optimo 2.
This speaker is also said to have a larger memory and internal storage for system use that is eight times larger for various features and functions loaded such as Sonos Voice Control. Optimo 2 will support connectivity via WiFi, Bluetooth, audio jack and possibly USB-C. So far Bluetooth can only be used on Move and Roam, their mobile speakers only.
For voice control support, there will be a built-in microphone that also works to tune the speaker to have the best audio quality according to the location and atmosphere. Sonos is expected to come with Optimo 1 and Optimo 1 SL (without microphone) in this series.
For now there is still no information about the price and launch date. Sonos speakers are among our favorites because of their great audio and ease of control with multiple devices and support for multiple music streaming services. Let's wait together.
