Sony has started offering a new model for the PlayStation 5 console with it first being marketed in Australia. Consoles with model numbers CFI-1202B (digital version) and CFI-1202A (version with BD drive) also come with different box designs.
In addition, the changes made are that the digital edition console is 200 grams lighter than the 2021 model and the BD driver edition is now 300 grams lighter than the 2021 model.
This is the second change Sony has made since the console launched with each iteration lighter than the previous console. It is not yet known what changes have been made this time but on the previous model the heat sink has been changed. Although it is lighter, the selling price of this console has been increased in several countries, with Malaysia increasing it by RM200.
