The world's population is predicted to reach 8 billion on November 15, 2022 according to the latest United Nations (UN) report. In the same report the earth's population is expected to reach 8.5 billion by 2030, 9.7 billion by 2050 and 10.4 billion by 2080.
Although the total population of the earth is increasing, the current population growth rate is the lowest since 1950. The fertility level of 2/3 of the earth's population is now below the rate of 2.1 for each woman to maintain the existing population.
In 2023, India will overtake China as the country with the largest population. More than half of the increase in the earth's population until 2050 will occur in the Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, and the Philippines.
