Cable.co.uk has just released a price list of mobile internet packages in 233 countries. In this list, they compare the prices of 1GB internet plans in each country.
Apparently, the title of the country with the cheapest internet package is carried by Israel. In this Middle Eastern country, the average price of a 1GB internet package is only USD 0.04.
Other countries that accompany Israel in the top five countries with the cheapest internet packages are Italy, San Marino, Fiji, and India.
On the other hand, Saint Helena, located in the South Atlantic Ocean, is the country with the most expensive mobile internet package in the world. In this country, the average price of a 1GB internet package is USD 41.06 !
Four other countries with expensive internet package prices that make you wince are the Falkland Islands, São Tomé and PrÃncipe, Tokelau, and Yemen, as quoted from Cable.co.uk, Sunday (31/7/2022).
Naturally, the price of internet packages in these five countries is very expensive. Two of these are in parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, and four out of five are island nations.
The report also finds that countries with cheap internet packages are usually affected by one of two factors, namely dependence on mobile internet or established network infrastructure. Meanwhile, countries with the most expensive internet prices usually have low consumption or poor infrastructure.
