TNG RFID Payments Can Now Be Used At 88 Selected Shell Stations

Shell began testing TNG RFID contactless fuel payments at five of their gas stations earlier this year. Today, this contactless payment system is being developed in 88 selected stations across the country.

Customers only need to activate the payment feature at the fuel pump in the Touch 'n Go eWallet application. The pump that supports the RFID system will detect the vehicle and then the user will have to select the amount of oil they want to buy. If the amount of oil pumped is lower than what was purchased, the balance will be credited back to the user's account.

By December this year, Shell has plans to add TNG RFID payment support to another 200 gas stations. The non-cash payment system through the app is an increasingly popular feature with it being offered at Petronas stations through Setel and Caltex through CaltexGo.
