WhatsApp is a very important application in India. With almost 400 million daily active users in India, it is easily the most important country for WhatsApp. All types of transactions can be done through WhatsApp in India and today users can place grocery orders directly from within the app.
Meta partnered with Jiomart to offer WhatsApp's first end-to-end shopping service. Purchases can be made by users by simply sending a chat to a Jiomart number from within the application. This is not the first collaboration between Meta and Jio. Previously they offered affordable internet connections and Meta invested into Jio.
