The Xiaomi 12S Ultra teardown video has been published in China and interestingly it reveals that this flagship device with Leica technology is actually equipped with Xiaomi's ISP Surge C2 chip. This chip is an update chip for the ISP Surge C1 chip used on the Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold to improve photography capabilities.
It is not known why the Surge C2 chip was given to the 12S Ultra but it was not activated at all. Maybe in the future Xiaomi will provide an update to use it to reduce the load on the image processor from Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
The image quality of the 12S Ultra camera has already received praise from users who already own it. If the Surge C2 is activated later, maybe it can be improved further. For users in Malaysia they do not need to think about it because it has been confirmed that Xiaomi will not sell the 12S Ultra to the global market.
