Apple not only updated iOS 16 this morning but also gave tvOS 16. Coming with this latest operating system is HDR10+ support on Apple TV for the first time. Although the HDR10+ format has been launched since 2017, Apple TV only supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 so far.
HDR10+ content cannot be displayed with proper dynamic detail when using Apple TV HD, Apple TV 4K and Apple TV 4K Gen2. In addition to HDR10+, tvOS 16 also brings Nintendo JoyCon game controller support to Apple TV so that it can be used with the first one installed.
