On YouTube there are many videos showing packages delivered to homes being stolen in the United States. Unlike in Malaysia, goods delivered by services such as Amazon are simply placed unattended. Because of the increasingly serious problem of theft, Amazon is testing placing parcel pick-up centers in police stations.
Testing was conducted at two locations located in Washington. The center places packages using metal maps placed in the area of the police station which is hoped to reduce incidents of theft. Recipients can designate packages to be placed in a locker that is then unlocked using a code provided by Amazon.
