After several leaks, Chromecast with Google TV HD was officially launched last night. This TV dongle is a more affordable version with resolution support up to 1080P only but comes with the latest Android TV 12 operating system.
The design is similar to Chromecast with Google TV which has an oval shaped body dongle, HDMI connection and remote control which are all made of plastic. It is equipped with Amlogic S805X2 chip, 1.5GB RAM memory and 8GB storage.
Another advantage of Google TV HD is that it finally supports data-saving AV1 codecs that were not previously supported on Google TV. Other features are still the same with the support of various applications from the Play Store. In the United States Chromecast with Google TV HD is sold at a price of $29.99 (~RM137) in white only.
