Digital Nasional Berhad has now released an official statement, saying they will complete an agreement involving the holding of shares in the firm soon.
Previously, the government had opened up to telecommunications companies by dividing a 70% stake between them, in addition to the government holding a 30% stake in DNB.
However, DNB's partnership today said only 4 telecommunication companies remain interested in acquiring an equity stake compared to the 6 companies that previously expressed interest.
DNB did not name the relevant telecommunications companies. According to DNB, one company chose not to proceed to obtain a stake, while the other did not give any response.
DNB also said that discussions related to 5G access involving 6 telecommunications companies are still continuing for now.
