Does sugar increase the risk of cancer? Over the years there have been many studies linking sugar with various other diseases such as diabetes. But a recent study by the American Cancer Society found that those who consumed two or more sugary drinks a day had a higher risk of dying from cancer than those who did not drink sugary water.

The study consisted of over 900,000 participants who were questioned about sugar intake in 1982 and in 2016 a total of 135,093 participants had died from cancer. Studies show that there is a relationship between the consumption of sugary drinks that lead to an increase in BMI and eventually lead to cancer.
