In line with the modernity of today's technology, the internet connection is also seen to be getting faster year by year, with some locations in the world present with networks as fast as 100Gbps and offering users internet as fast as 10Gbps is not just a dream.
Fujitsu, a well-known technology company from Japan recently announced that they have shown a new optical fiber technology that comes with the ability to send data as fast as 1.2Tbps or data as much as six 256GB Blu-Ray discs every second.
This new technology is seen not only to allow data to be sent at a very fast rate, but also to allow it to be sent over longer distances and with much lower electrical power consumption (1.2mW/1Gbps).
Fujitsu says that this technology was created by combining the use of liquid cooling systems and artificial intelligence systems to ensure that data transmission is more even and energy consumption is more optimal.
Fujitsu also says that optical fiber transmission is typically not optimized because basically the technology can already provide fast data transmission rates, and upgrades in terms of the materials used also directly and indirectly set this rate.
But by using artificial intelligence, Fujitsu managed to show the fastest increase in data transmission rate to date, and without having to increase the cost so much.
They expect that this technology will start to be used more widely in 2023, especially with 5G networks spreading around the world.
