GoPro has just launched their new action camera, the GoPro Hero11 Black and also a new compact version of the Hero11 Black Mini. What's interesting about these two GoPros is, they use the same specifications with the only difference being the screen and battery.
GoPro Hero11 Black still uses the same design and body as the previous Hero 10 Black. In fact the only obvious difference is the number 10 changed to 11. The Hero11 Black now continues to use the Enduro battery that was previously sold separately for the older model. Then, users also no longer need to subscribe to the GoPro subscription service to use the highlight video feature.
The camera on the other hand is better with a 27MP sensor that supports 10-bit color and can do full frame recording at 8:7 ratio with 5.3K resolution. Speaking of full frame, a HyperView mode is introduced that loads footage at a 16:9 aspect ratio. GoPro also includes support for horizontally locked 360-degree video recording at a rate of 5K30FPS.
Other recording modes are video resolution 5K/60FPS, 4K120FPS, and time-motion recording Vehicle Lights, Star Trails and Light Pain. The HyperSmooth video stabilization system has also been updated with Auto Boost support to stabilize rougher movements.
For the GoPro Hero11 Black Mini, it is clear that GoPro is trying to bring back their Session model. But the interesting thing about the Hero 11 Black Mini is that the internal specifications are not different from their flagship model. The only difference that this compact model has is a non-removable battery, a smaller screen and two physical buttons for control.
The selling price for the Hero 11 Black is $499.99 which is around RM2,264, while the Hero 11 Black Mini is sold at a price of $399.99 which is around RM1,811. For now, the sales price for the Malaysian market has not yet been announced.
