Incognito Mode On Chrome Can Now Be Locked With Fingerprint

Incognito mode is a privacy mode offered on the Google Chrome web browser. Through this mode, user activities such as web pages browsed, text typed and more cannot be tracked by Google or any other website.

Through the Chrome 105 update, this Incognito mode can now be locked with the user's fingerprint for added security. To activate this feature, users need to update the application to version 105 via Play Store or APK installation. Then need to enter chrome://flags/#incognito-reauthentication-for-android in the address bar, change Default to Enabled and close the web browser and launch it again.

After this feature is activated, if Chrome has an active Incognito tab – it will display a gray Incognito icon and if the user needs to press to Unlock Incognito. After pressing, the user needs to scan the fingerprint to access this tab.

This feature is currently being rolled out to everyone and is hidden. Access to all will be offered in the future.
