The Google Tensor G2 chip will be used in the Pixel 7 later. Now information about this chip has been leaked to the web arena and it may disappoint those who want it to have performance as good as Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 or Apple A16.
Based on information leaked by developer Kuba Wojciechowski, the Geekbench benchmark scores show that the Tensor G2 is equipped with two Cortex-X1 CPU cores, two Cortex-A76 CPU cores and four Cortex-A55 CPU cores. This is the same core used on the Tensor G1.
Even so, Tensor G2 will use Samsung's 4nm technology compared to Samsung's 5nm that Tensor G1 uses. The main core speed is also higher which improves performance by around 10% on the Tensor G2.
The above information if true may disappoint those looking to buy a Pixel 7 device but Google's strategy seems to be not to use the most powerful chip but a chip designed specifically for their needs only.
