Intel And ARM Processing Chip Choices May Be Combined Under Microsoft Surface Pro 9

The Microsoft Surface premium tablet series typically comes with the Surface Pro offering for devices powered by Intel processing chips and the Surface Pro X for models powered by ARM processing chips, specifically Qualcomm releases.

For the Surface Pro 9 model, Microsoft is expected to combine the offering of these two processing chips under the model, and will no longer launch the Surface Pro X model.

Microsoft Surface Pro 9 will be introduced with the choice of Intel Alder Lake P processing chip and also the choice of modified Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 processing chip and will be given the name Microsoft SQ3.

In terms of design, the Surface Pro 9 tablet is expected to come with the same design as the Surface Pro 8, but in terms of connectivity, there is a possibility that it will come with the option of supporting 5G networks, something new for this series of tablets.

The Windows Central report also did not say anything about changes to the Surface Pro 9 design, but it is highly likely that the Type Cover keyboard will come with a new color option to be announced later.

For now, there are still no plans to introduce a Surface Pro with AMD processing chips, unlike the Surface Laptop.
