iOS 16 was officially released today, Monday (12/9/2022) according to Apple's announcement at the iPhone 14 launch event. This update brings many new features and designs that can be tasted by millions of iPhone users.
Compared to Google with Android, Apple is more generous when it comes to distributing iOS 16 updates. Indeed, not all iPhones running iOS 15 can try iOS 16, but some older models such as the iPhone 8 and iPhone SE (2020) still get iOS 16.
iOS 16 brings a lot of new features, but one that stands out the most is the new lock screen display. Users can now set what information and widgets can be displayed on the Lock Screen as desired.
In addition, iOS 16 will also replace passwords with Passkeys. This feature relies on a digital key that is authenticated using a face or fingerprint on the iPhone and can be used to log into websites, apps, and other services.
iOS 16 also brings an edit and delete feature in iMessage which allows users to edit and delete messages within 15 minutes of being sent. There is also an iCloud Share Photo feature that allows users to share photo albums with others more easily.
To try out the new features above, your iPhone must first be updated to the iOS 16 operating system. The easy way is:
Backup data on iPhone using iCloud to ensure no data is lost
Open the Settings app > General > Software Update
Click Download and Install
Follow the instructions on the screen and wait until the download is complete
Wait for the installation process to complete
