It turns out that the Southeast Asian market continues to be the focus of the e-commerce market, when the region is expected to have around 413 million users by 2025. This data includes:
Malaysia – 18.3 million users
Indonesia – 221 million users
Philippines – 55.8 million users
Singapore – 4.1 million users
Thailand – 4.35 million users
Vietnam – 70.9 million users
In line with the theme of Empowering Relationships Through Trade, Lazada, one of the leaders in e-commerce in Southeast Asia, at the LazMall Brands Future Forum (BFF) meeting today saw that such capacity also produces an impact for their medium in reaching quality buyers.
This is because following the change in consumer behavior since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lazada found that the e-commerce medium has received a surge in quality buyers with an increase of up to 3 times and this increase in participation is consistent until the second quarter of 2022.
Among them, it was found that around 94% of buyers on Lazada make purchases after checking the items on the search engine. And more interestingly, 71% of users purchase goods based on the 'suggestions' feature available on Lazada.
Lazada along with Alibaba's infrastructural and logistics support also affirmed the group's principle not only to make a profit behind the growing flow of online purchases, but they want to ensure that each product offering is in line with the value that consumers need. This step directly not only increases user participation but also gains user confidence in their product offerings on the Lazada platform.
According to James Chang Chief Executive Officer (CEO) LazMall will continue to be a segment of Lazada's strength in the growth of the group and will expand investment exploration from time to time.
