Malaysia and the People's Republic of China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to conduct digital telecommunications cooperation that includes 5G technology, digital economy and cyber security.
With this MoU, the two countries are expected to explore the potential of cooperation in 5G application technology, encouraging cooperation in e-commerce, startup innovation, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Internet applications and other digital technologies. as well as cooperation in policy, standards, emergency response, data security technology, training and awareness related to cyber security.
This collaboration is expected to add value to Malaysia taking into account the rapid development of the information technology industry in China. Both countries can gain knowledge and expertise in the field of 5G, cyber security and digital economy. In addition, China's cooperation to share best practices, experience and expertise through joint initiatives can help improve the speed and readiness of the nation's cyber security and digitization ecosystem, especially in the face of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era.
