Many AirPods Max Users Report ANC Problems No Longer Working Since Update 4E71

AirPods Max are Apple's first standalone set of wireless headphones. It has a premium design, quite interesting audio quality and also supports active noise cancellation. AirPods Max is sold at a price of RM2,499 and has remained so since its launch two years ago.

Despite being a premium set of headphones, it does not support lossless audio in either wired or wireless mode. Even using Apple Music to stream lossless audio isn't supported on it either.

Recently, many users reported that the 4E71 update has made the active noise cancellation quality of AirPods Max worse than before. This feature is said to have disappeared or not working at all. For example, when typing on the keyboard you can hear the sound of each key being pressed, or the surrounding noise also becomes clearer even if this mode is activated.

There are users who have received a replacement from Apple and still have the same problem. This update 4E71 has been distributed since last May and until today there is still no new update that fixes the issue that many users are facing.

The AirPods Max in our lab also suffered from the same problem as I still remember the experience when reviewing this set of headphones. Noise canceling mode on and off seems to make no difference, while only sound-through mode works.

Does anyone with AirPods Max experience the same problem?
