Further to the partnership of Digital Nasional Berhad, now a report comes through Reuters, stating that Maxis and U Mobile are not interested in obtaining an equity stake in DNB.
Previously, the government opened up a 70% stake in DNB to telecommunications companies. It is said that Maxis and U Mobile do not see any advantage in being minority shareholders in the firm.
DNB itself said that one of the telecommunications companies has expressed no interest in obtaining a stake, while the other has not given any response for a stake. This means, only 4 telecommunication companies will continue with the plan to get a stake in DNB - in addition to 30% of the stake will be owned by the government.
However, these two telecommunication companies are still interested in gaining access to the 5G network that will be provided by DNB.
