The OG App went viral this week because it allows Instagram users to enjoy the experience of using the app without any ads, Reels and user-controlled timelines. After it went viral it was quickly downloaded by users on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
But today the app has been pulled from the App Store. Meanwhile the Instagram and Facebook accounts of the two developers of The OG App have been suspended by Meta. The OG App works by using Instagram's official API. But its use that allows the service to be used without advertising may have violated the terms and conditions of use.
The application still works if the user has time to download it to the iOS device. The app is also still available for download on the Google Play Store at the time of writing. Un1Feed who is an app developer says Apple's action of removing their apps from the App Store is helping Meta bully users.
