Nokia launched a device subscription service called Circular. Through Circular, customers only need to pay a monthly subscription that will give them a smartphone, damage protection plan, free replacement in case of theft and a recycling program after the device is no longer used.
Circular will be offered in the UK and Germany first with fees starting at €12 (~RM54) per month for the Nokia T10 LTE. After the device is returned, it will be repaired to be resold to an interested customer or given to an NGO if it cannot be resold.
Circular customers can continue paying as long as possible and Nokia will then put the funds towards planting trees and buying carbon offset credits.
