Over 100,000 IPs Detected In Malaysia Involved With Underage Porn Content

The issue of pornographic content online has existed since the first day the internet was accessed. Every year various systems are introduced in Malaysia to prevent porn sites from being accessed by local users. But this issue becomes even more serious when it comes to the content of minors.

Development, Women, Family and Community Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun yesterday said that in Malaysia 106,764 IP addresses have been detected involved in underage porn content from 2017 to August 2022. This is a worrying issue because the number of affected IPs shows an increase.

Previously in 2018, users in Malaysia had the highest access to child pornography content in Southeast Asia. The Royal Malaysian Police has also monitored users who access pornographic content under the age of 18 using the Internet Crime Against Children — Child Online Protective Services (ICACCOPS) software.
