Qualcomm And Meta Collaborate To Produce Chips For Meta Quest

Qualcomm and Meta signed a multi-year agreement to jointly develop processor chips for Meta Quest headsets. Through this agreement, the engineering teams of the two companies will work together more closely to develop Snapdragon XR chips designed specifically for virtual reality and augmented reality headsets.

The previous Quest 2 headset did use Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2 chip but without direct input from Meta. With this collaboration, chips that will meet the real needs of augmented reality devices to immerse themselves in the world of metamesta will be produced.

Even if the chip receives input from Meta, it will still be marketed to other manufacturers who want to use it.
