Razer Unveils Their Mobile Console Powered By Snapdragon G3X Gen 1 – Edge 5G

The Qualcomm Snapdragon G3X Gen 1 is a new processing chip specifically for mobile consoles. The first time it was revealed was in December last year, where Qualcomm teamed up with Razer to produce a developer kit.

Recently, this chip is seen to be ready to be used in products to be sold to consumers. Verizon announced that they have partnered with Razer for the Razer Edge 5G mobile console that uses this chip.

The console will run the Android operating system, support 5G Ultra Wideband connectivity, have physical control buttons, shoulder buttons and a realistic vibration system. Not much has been revealed yet, but the specifications of this console will likely have similarities to the previously launched developer kits.

Among the capabilities of this Snapdragon G3X Gen 1 chip can do is support OLED HDR 120Hz screen, Snapdragon Sound, WiFi 6E connection, Bluetooth 5.2, 1080p camera, USB-C connection support directly to XR augmented reality glasses and able to run high graphics games.

It is likely that the Razer Edge 5G will also focus on game streaming platforms due to its fast 5G connection and will also support high-end graphics because it runs Android which may be downloadable through the Play Store. It will be officially launched on October 15th at the RazerCon 2022 event. Let's all look forward to it.
