Last year the Samsung Smart Monitor M7 started their era of offering smart monitors with the Tizen operating system which has so far only been offered on their smart television products. But with encouraging response, they are now launching the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 which is another smart gaming monitor after the Samsung Odyssey Ark.
The Odyssey OLED G8 comes with a 34″ OLED QHD 175Hz screen with a 21:9 ratio. The screen is also curved with a radius of 1800R. The panel passes the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black Certified standard, has a 0.1ms response time and AMD FreeSync Premium.
Through the Samsung Gaming Hub, streaming services Xbox, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Google Stadia, Utomik and Amazon Luna can be accessed. Through the Tizen operating system, YouTube, Netflix, and Prime Video streaming applications can be used like a smart television.
Input options are micro HDMI 2.1, Mini DP (1.4) and USB-C. The audio system has a power output of 5W. On the back panel there is a CoreSync & Core Lighting+ LED lighting system. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 will start rolling out in Q2 2022 but pricing has yet to be announced.
