The ISIS Terrorist Group Also Has NFTs

The terrorist group ISIS became known to the world in 2014 when they were determined to grow an Islamic government in Iraq and Syria. It has been classified as a terrorist group in Malaysia since 2014.

Although this group is not as strong as before, ISIS is still active. Following the attacks that have been carried out in Afghanistan a few weeks ago, NFTs supporting ISIS appeared in OpenSea on August 26, according to a Wall Street Journal report. A total of three NFTs that support ISIS have already been pulled from the market before they were successfully sold on OpenSea.

According to US intelligence officials, this is the first time an NFT has been used to provide support to a terrorist group. Concerns have arisen that NFTs could be used by supporters to raise funds to support ISIS's cause. The collected funds can then be laundered online to make it harder for the authorities to track.
