The use of face masks is no longer mandatory on airplanes

Another relaxation was given in the wearing of face masks by the Ministry of Health Malaysia today. Effective immediately, the wearing of face masks is no longer mandatory on airplanes. The decision was taken after taking into account good ventilation, the existence of a HEPA air filter system, the seating arrangement and the frequency of disinfection scheduling used in current airplanes.

Although it is no longer mandatory, its use is still recommended for symptomatic groups, high-risk groups such as those with low immunity and those who travel with high-risk groups.

The use of face masks at this time is still mandatory in public transport, self-driving vehicles and hospital areas.
