Netflix announced that their ad-supported subscription plan will be offered in 12 countries starting November 3. It will be offered in the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain, and the UK.
Subscription prices are as low as 18.89 Reis (~RM17) in Brazil and rise to $6.99 (~RM32) in the United States. Through this plan, a 15-30 second advertisement will be shown in front of and in the middle of the content being watched. On average a 5 minute long ad will be displayed for every 1 hour of content viewed.
Video quality is limited to 720P only with no download feature provided. As previously mentioned, not all Netflix content is accessible to subscribers of this plan.
