Android 13 was launched last August with the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro being the first two devices to launch with this operating system installed. Today Android 13 Go Edition is finally announced for smartphones with low specifications.
However, Google has included some features that were previously only available on the full version of Android. For example, the Material You interface was finally provided together with Google Discover Feed for the first time. Device theme customization according to selected background image is also provided. Devices with Android 13 Go Edition are expected to arrive in early 2023.
More interesting is that Android 13 Go Edition supports operating system update features through Google Play System Updates. Security and operating system updates can be provided to devices by Google and no longer by the manufacturer when needed.
