Last month we reported that the upcoming Android 13 update will finally display the device's battery health after years of this feature being introduced to iPhone users. There are four stabs at battery health. When it reaches the lowest level, the device will recommend that the battery of the device be changed to avoid freezing while it is operating.
Latest in Android 13 QPR1 Beta 2, 9to5Google has discovered that this battery health feature will display more information to help users ensure the device's battery health. This feature will be displayed in the system settings in the battery section under Battery Health.
In Battery Health it will display the battery health status and also guide to ensure that the device's battery can last longer. In the Maximum Capacity section it will show the battery percentage. In this setting there will also be a warning about the device's battery getting weaker and consumed by age. A low battery will then prompt a Need Attention alert for the user to do something before it's too late. Among them are;
Activate Adaptive Charging.
Optimize device settings.
Always update the device to the latest version.
Use the appropriate charger and according to the standards supported by the device.
Battery health for Android is said to be introduced through Android 13 QPR1 around next December. For now this feature is only limited to Pixel users for the Feature Drop update and it is not sure yet if it will be offered to other Android devices.
Xiaomi has also been testing this feature, but it is yet to appear on any of their devices. With Google offering this feature continuously, eventually all Android devices may implement in AOSP so that more devices can take advantage of this feature.
