Physical buttons on devices have been used since the first generation of cellular phones. It is easy to detect with the finger allowing it to be used even in the dark. Apple since the beginning of the lag placed the physical power button on the right side and the volume and mute buttons on the left side. But according to Ming-Chi Kuo's latest prediction, starting with the iPhone 15 everything will change.
According to Kuo, Apple will replace the side buttons on the iPhone 15 with non-moving buttons. Instead, a button with a haptic system like Force Touch on the touchpad of the MacBook will be used. Two Taptic Engine motors will be used to provide haptic response effects.
HTC and Huawei have released devices with haptic buttons before with a less than satisfactory user experience. Apple has already used a similar haptic system on the iPhone SE 2022 Home button.
